Music Theory, History, and Composition Lessons

Music Theory:
I am offering music theory lessons to students at any level. Lessons may begin with music fundamentals and extend though post-tonal theory. I also offer advanced lessons in counterpoint theory of the 16th and 17th centuries as well figured bass realization and/or the creation of functional harmony. Lessons will be tailored to each student’s needs and desires. Prior to the start of lessons, a trial lesson will be given to discuss teacher student compatibility and to select materials. Important: All lessons will be given over Zoom for the time being (1/21/21).
Music History:
I am offering music history lessons to students at any level. Lessons may range from a survey course of western music, to a detailed study of a specific time period of music. I also offer lessons to aid students currently enrolled in undergraduate music history courses. My areas of personal interest are the renaissance and baroque periods (1450-1750). I also hold a minor in European history and incorporate this knowledge into lessons. Lessons will be tailored to each student’s needs and desires. I am offering music composition lessons to students at who wish to begin writing their own music. Lessons may begin with fundamentals and extend though traditional composition forms . I also offer advanced lessons in counterpoint of the 16th and 17th centuries as well figured bass realization and/or the creation of functional harmony.
